CSR2 Data Availability Note. Dollar-per-CSR2-point statistics are computed only from records where a Corn Suitability Rating was recorded at the county courthouse at the time of sale. CSR ratings were not consistently included on Iowa deeds prior to the late 1990s; as a result, approximately 17.7% of the database (18,554 of 105,044 records, concentrated in the 1992–2006 period) carries no CSR value. These records are fully included in all sale count, acreage, total value, and price-per-acre calculations — they are excluded only from $/CSR2 point averages. Coverage improves steadily over time: CSR completeness reaches 94% by 2011 and 100% for all records from 2020 forward. The South Central district exhibits the highest historical missing-CSR rate (approximately 45%), consistent with later adoption of CSR recording practices in southern Iowa courthouses. All statistics reflect courthouse-verified transactions sourced directly from county deed records.
